HAPPY VALINTINES
From Lady Loretta Wilson
Praise the Lord my Sisters' and Brothers' in the Lord, this month is recognized as the month of love. As well as Black History month, this also is about love. Therefore let’s take a look at the word love, these four letters have many different meanings such as, affection, adoration, friendship, tenderness, feeling, fondness, devotion, passion, ardor, amity. Depending on whom you are and or who you talk to one of these words would describe as to what any given individual would say love is. However for me I would say that LOVE is I Cor. 13:4; where it says that love is patient, love is kind, does not envy, does not boast, is not proud, does not dis-honor, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, keeps no record, does not take joy in evil but takes joy in the truth. Love protects, tells the truth, has hope, always perseveres, love never fails. Many other things will pass away but faith, hope, and LOVE will always be around, and the greatest of the three is LOVE. We as a people of color have to love ourselves in order to truly appreciate who we are and where we come from. Many have given time, blood, sweat, tears, and life to make sure that we have the opportunities and freedoms that we do. And in all that the greatest gift of love was the gift of a Sons' life, now that is love. I appreciate those that died for my freedom and would not ever be able to express in word how they have really done us a great justice. However I have to make it know that as much as I relish in my freedom, I even the more rest in my eternal life. There is only one LOVE that offers that and that is the LOVE of Christ and his death on the cross and the shedding of his blood.
Thank you Lord for your amazing LOVE!!!

This month’s study will be on our relationship with the God. The scripture is Romans 1:19 and 3:20, 21
He has made it abundantly clear throughout the NT and especially in the book of Romans. This theme of relationship with God is clearly spoken out. We were once justly condemned sinners. That’s Romans 1:18-3:20, but we are now justified sinners through the blood of Christ, that’s 3:21 through the rest of the book. We were once enemies, but we are now friends. Once lost, but now found, as it were.
God cares—as Romans 8:28-30 makes it plain. Again, we know that in all things, not just some, as if God were almost God. That He works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose. And, His purpose is to conform us to the image of his son. In other words suffering will bring in a lot of good changes.
A. In Romans 8: 31 a question is asked what is it?
____________________________________________
Would you answer that question, think about it deep within and answer.
__________________________________________________
B. In Romans 8:35 it asked another question what is it?
___________________________________________________
How would you answer that question, think about it deep within and answer.
___________________________________________________
C. In Romans 2:5-9 it makes a statement what do you think about this statement explain it is you own words.

Strong Holds
In history strongholds played a vital role, no army could successfully defeat an opponent and let their stronghold stand within conquered territory. One of the main objectives of armies were to remove strongholds within conquered territory. We as the Lord’s army need to take notice, of the objective to remove strongholds. Like conquerors of old, we need to target the spiritual strongholds of our enemy, Satan.
A city with strong walls and secure location, usually a hilltop or mountain would be able grow in stature and power enriching its inhabitants. Nonetheless, the picture of the walled city or fortress was known as a stronghold. Spiritually speaking, Paul defines strongholds as an “argument or high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God”. A stronghold is a point of operation from where Satan can keep the unbeliever captive or the believer incapacitated. See 2nd Corinthians below.
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
We must prepare for battle, in the spiritual war; our objective should always be victory through the Lord’s strength, not our own power. Look in verse 10 and 11 of Ephesians, what is the key to success?
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:10-12
The key to Joshua, Caleb and David was their reliance on the Lord’s ability, His power and might. They were strong in the Lord. In verses 10 and 11, our part is to make a conscious effort. Verse 10 tells us, be strong, verse 11, says put on. Are you willing to move forward in battle trusting the Lord?
Using Israel as our example, what was their first action before they entered the promise land? Moses told them to spy out the land, to survey it, locate the stronghold. We need to do the same; we need to locate places where the enemy has strongholds in our life. Remember our battle is not physical but spiritual. In Ephesians 6:10-18, only two pieces of the armor are offensive in nature, what are they? They are the sword (vs. 17) and prayer. In describing the armor, many times people stop at verse 17, but verse 18 is just as much a part of the armor. 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints Ephesians 6:18 The sword of the Lord, the word of God and Prayer are offensive weapons against the strongholds, which allows Satan to keep people captive. With these two weapons, we can take the offensive, rather then being defensive.
We can pursue our strongholds, to pull them down. We need to enter the battle wearing our armor, prepared to assault the stronghold with our sword and prayer.

Background Information: Teddy Roosevelt once said that “nine-tenths of wisdom consists in being wise in time” After the dust settles, the storm clears, the action stops, it’s often too late for wisdom to work its marvels. Many women in scripture stand out for their wisdom. One woman who lived in a town at Israel’s northern border, is identified solely as “a wise woman” (2Samuel 20:16), acting quickly to save her city.
1. What do you think it was like for mothers with small children in Abel when Joab’s army surrounded it?
2. Why do you suppose a woman rather than a one of the leading men of the city, called out for Joab, what does this say about her?
3. What do Joab’s terse words in verse 17 tell you about his reaction to the woman?
4. What do you think about what the town of Abel did to Sheba?
5. Was the bargain they stuck with Joab a good one?
6. The facts of this story are brutal and disturbing, but the facts of life for many today are just as brutal. War, abuse, poverty, illness, or death can besiege families or towns.
7. How can you be a wise woman in your corner of the world?
8. Research - memory verse: Proverbs 3:18
Scripture = Isaiah 1:16, 17
Reflections
Monday - Read all the lesson Scriptures
Tuesday – thank him for his wisdom
Wednesday - understand that true wisdom has nothing to with intellectual ability but everything to with humble dependence on God
Thursday - pray about any laziness that keeps you from searching out God’s wisdom for your own life
Friday – treasure his wisdom, look up some scriptures
Saturday - to minister to another woman that may be seeking wisdom and understanding.
Sunday - Attend church and fellowship, share what God has revealed to you
