   Jonathan and Valerie D. Harvey  We were married by Pastor Wilson on

July 10, 2005.   

 
When we joined the church we were living in sin. Pastor was Pastoring New Saint John Baptist Church at the time, God placed conviction in our spirits because we knew that in the eyes of God it was not right and we were and still are saved. Pastor Wilson would not let us settle or shall I say rest until we were united in Christ and Marriage. He kept stepping on our toes with the word of God and we became more and more conficted. Then Pastor would call us out right there in the opening. He would say things like you don't have to set a date I'll set it or I can marry you right now. So we finely set the date and Pastor started our counseling sessions even though we knew each other for 25 yrs he felt that we still needed to be counseled to make sure we were evenly yolked and to make sure we had what it takes spiritualy and mentally to be United in Matrimony. We were so blessed because everyone in the church helped us. Our Pastor by Ministering to us. Our First Lady bought my wedding dress and did our programs. Sister Baxter and Sister Joesetta did the Good Old Dinning Catering service with their helpers. Sister Joesetta made our flowers and bouques, decorations and the bride and groom goblets . Evangelist Evans loaned us the Head Table Place Settings. Tanika loaned us her son for our ring barer. Our own songbird Linda Wilson sang one of my favorite songs as I walked down the isles, What God Has For Me. The Clarks did our pictures and video. It was an Awesome wedding we were very well Blessed. I was so Grateful to the whole body of Christ for what they did for us . We had three cakes two were gifts and the actual wedding cake was practically a gift. Our family and friends were awesome. That was a wedding to remember. Even though we didn't go all out It was our Dream Wedding. Thanks to Our Pastor, First Lady and the Congregation. We Love You and will never forget what you all did for us through Christ Jesus!  With the help of our Church Ministry we did all this in a matter of two months too!  We Are a Family Ministry. God Is Good All Time, And All The Time God Is Good! We Praise God for such an anointed Pastor and First Lady.  You mean the world to us. Much Love To You!! We praise God for our Pastor who really got on our case before he married us.  Yes we were also convicted because we were living in sin before Pastor united us. He hit us with the Word of God seems like every Sunday the subject came up about something that was directed right at us.  We know it was the will of God that we wanted to do. We were just procrastinating like we all do so many times.  Pastor kept chastizing us in his own way and staying on our case until we finally set our date to be counseled and then married. The wedding was a very blessed affair. We had a lot of support from our Church family and our family. God blessed us in every way possible. We thank God for the Pastor's words of encouragement in his sermons and counseling that gave us the lift that we needed to go forward to do what was required of us. Well it is now 2008 and the Lord has blessed us with a new home and we are expecting our first child in  August 2008. Praise God! Thank You for everything Pastor, We Love you and will be back in service soon. We had a wonderful wedding and it was all we wanted it to be.

As time grew closer to our wedding date, we met with Pastor and Lady Wilson for counseling (this was a requirement before Pastor would marry you to ensure that you were ready for marriage).  Well by this time we had been exposed to a lot of information and I thought that these sessions were going to be a breeze, boy was I wrong.  Somehow, at the end of every session, I would always leave crying.  The thing that I found to be unique with Pastor and Lady is that their pre-marital counseling was very specific to you as a person and a couple.  Pastor spent a lot of time in prayer before our sessions to ensure that the sessions would be effective.  These sessions through the power of the Holy Spirit were specifically aimed at what we needed to bring it all together and provide healing to areas that needed to be addressed in our lives.  We received something from every session and believe that entire experience was ordained by God to prepare us for a new life together.  By the end of the counseling sessions, we were ready to take the next step in faith and peace. 

We are forever grateful to God for all of the information that was made available to us; it really helped prepare us for marriage so much so that the first year of our marriage was absolutely wonderful.  We've been married for a little over three years and we both can say that it has been a great and enjoyable experience.  Make no mistake about it, we know that the enjoyment we have experienced is only by the grace of God, the preparation we received through counseling, and the prayers of people like our parents and our spiritual parents Pastor and Lady Loretta.  It was a blessing to glean their wisdom.... rarely do you get to witness a couple as in love as they are after almost 30 years of marriage.  They are an encouragement and an example for many couples including us. 

We don't know what the future holds, but we know that what we have learned has already paid off for us over the last three years and we pray that our love for each other will continue to grow stronger and stronger every day and that one day we will be able to inspire other couples as Pastor and Lady have inspired us!  Anyone who is looking to get counseling from Pastor Wilson and Lady Loretta, I highly recommend their services, they have tons of experience, are very gifted and skilled in the area of counseling, have a passion for helping others, and carry an anointing to minister to the specific areas that need healing in your lives.  They have been a tremendous blessing to us and we know they will be the same for you!
